This notice describes information handled by the operator identified above when you browse this marketplace, create an account, contact a seller, submit a listing or request support. “We” refers to that operator. It covers the website’s current features; outside services and sellers are responsible for information you give them separately.
1. Information you provide
- Account and profile: your email address, password hash, first and last name, phone number, state, city and any profile photo. We also retain account status, email-confirmation and recovery records.
- Listings and saved items: listing details, asking prices, vehicle or equipment specifications, location, photos, videos and the items you save. Uploaded media may contain information visible in the image or embedded in the original file.
- Conversations and support: questions, price offers, replies, reports and details you send through contact or support forms. These records can be linked to your account, the relevant seller and listing.
- Identity submissions: if you request verification, photos of the front and back of an identity card or driver’s license and a live selfie. A document may display your portrait, document number, date of birth, address and other identification details. We also record the submission type, status, review dates and review notes.
- Preferences: your choices for sign-in alerts, reply emails and promotional notifications, together with records needed to apply unsubscribe requests.
The current website does not ask you to enter payment-card details, bank credentials, a Social Security number or credit-history information to browse, message sellers or post a listing. Do not include such information in conversations or support requests.
2. Information from your browser and activity
When you use the website, server and account records can include your IP address, browser and operating-system information, device category, sign-in and activity times, referral information and the pages, categories or listings viewed. We use page-view records and listing counters to understand usage and show popular items. IP-based location lookup may estimate a country, state or city and approximate coordinates; it is not the same as GPS location.
Connected Devices uses a browser identifier and session records to show recognized devices and their activity. A device name is inferred from browser information and may not identify an exact hardware model. It is not a record of other apps or files on your device.
3. Why information is used
We use information to create and secure accounts, maintain profiles and listings, deliver messages and offers, remember saved items, review verification submissions, respond to support requests and investigate reports. We also use activity records to count views, improve reliability and prevent automated abuse, duplicate requests or unauthorized access.
Email addresses and notification preferences help us deliver requested verification or recovery messages and, when enabled, sign-in alerts, seller replies and promotional communications. We may also retain or disclose relevant records to comply with lawful requirements, establish or defend claims and protect users or the service.
4. Public information and conversations
Published listings and seller profiles can show the seller’s name, profile photo, listed location, verification badge, listing details, photos and videos. Public material can be viewed, shared or copied by others and may appear in search engines. Image-saving restrictions cannot make a public photo private. Only publish information and media that you are comfortable making public.
Conversation content is made available to the participants and authorized staff who handle seller communications, support or safety reviews. Messages are stored by the Platform and are not represented as end-to-end encrypted. A seller-reply email may contain the reply, seller identity details or badge, and the listing title and primary image. Anyone with access to your mailbox could see that notification.
Your private identity-document images and selfie are not placed on your public profile or shown to other buyers or sellers. Other users may see your verification status where the interface displays it.
5. Identity review and camera access
Verification images are used to review the submitted identity and help protect account and marketplace integrity. The current workflow relies on authorized human review; it does not generate facial-recognition templates or perform automated biometric matching. A recorded verification result is not a guarantee about a transaction or a person’s future conduct.
The selfie step requests camera permission so you can capture and submit a photo. You can decline permission or leave the flow without submitting; features that require verification will then remain unavailable. Camera permission can also be withdrawn in your browser or device settings. Identity images are stored as private review records with restricted administrative access.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
Hosting, storage, email delivery and operational service providers process information needed to run the website. An IP-location provider may receive an IP address to return an approximate location. Staff and providers should access information only for the tasks they perform. We may disclose relevant information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to address fraud, security incidents or threats to people’s safety.
If the business changes ownership, relevant records may be transferred as part of that change, subject to applicable obligations and any required notice. We may also share information when you specifically direct us to do so. Identity documents and selfies are not used to advertise listings or displayed to potential trading partners.
7. Cookies and storage on your device
Session cookies support sign-in, security checks and the continuity of your visit. A device cookie helps recognize a browser for Connected Devices and sign-in notifications. Browser session storage can preserve an unfinished seller-contact draft, and local storage can remember a temporary favorite-action cooldown. These storage tools help the website function and reduce repeated requests.
You can clear or block cookies and website storage in your browser. Doing so may sign you out, remove drafts or make some features unavailable. Clearing local storage does not remove account records stored on the server or override server-side safety limits.
8. External videos, links and sharing
When you choose to play an external video, a service such as YouTube, Vimeo or the video host can receive your IP address, browser details and information needed to load its player, and may use its own cookies. Following an external link or sharing a listing through email, a social network or another app puts the shared information under that service’s privacy practices.
Built-in sharing can include the listing link, title, price and primary photo. Check the destination and audience before sharing. We do not control copies held by external services or other people.
9. Your account and email choices
Use Profile to correct your account details and Notification settings to manage new sign-in alerts, conversation-reply emails and promotions independently. Reply emails also include a link to stop that type of notification. Turning off one category does not turn off the others. Essential messages needed for an email-verification or password-recovery action you request may still be sent.
Connected Devices shows recognized sessions and provides available sign-out controls. Contact support if you do not recognize activity or need help securing your account. Signing out or disabling notifications does not by itself delete the underlying account or conversation records.
10. Retention and removal
Account, listing, conversation and activity records remain stored while used to provide the service and as needed for security, support, disputes or legal obligations. Different records serve different purposes and may be kept for different periods. Identity documents and selfies are not automatically deleted when a review is completed; they remain in the private review record until removed or replaced through the available account-administration process.
You can contact support to request account closure or removal of personal information, including verification images. We will assess the request, verify that it comes from the right person and explain any information that must be retained. Removing information may affect features that depend on it. Delivered emails, copies held by another participant and public copies outside our control may remain; backup copies may be removed on a different schedule from active records.
11. Privacy requests and applicable rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply to the operator, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of personal information, correct it, request deletion, object to particular uses, withdraw a consent, or opt out of qualifying sales, sharing or targeted advertising. Some laws also provide an appeal process or allow an authorized agent to act for you. These rights can have lawful limits and verification requirements.
Send a request using the contact options below, describe what you need and identify the account email. Do not send an ID document or password with your initial request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request and will explain the outcome, applicable response timing and any available appeal route. You may contact an appropriate privacy regulator, and exercising a protected right will not be used as a reason for unlawful discrimination.
12. Security, age requirements and updates
We use account authentication, password hashing, access restrictions and validation checks to help protect information. No website, mailbox or device can be guaranteed secure. Protect your password, use a trusted device and report suspected misuse to support.
Accounts and seller-contact features are intended for adults aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
This notice is updated when the described practices change. The revision date appears above; material changes may also be communicated on the website or by email. Where the law requires an additional choice or consent, a revised notice alone does not replace it.
